Hamilton Bloom

Vice President

During his tenure on Capitol Hill, Hamilton developed an ability to quickly master new policy issues and effectively execute bipartisan solutions to seemingly intractable problems.

At the age of 26, Hamilton was placed in charge of a budget of over $70 billion during the longest government shutdown in U.S. history as Subcommittee Staff Director of the Senate Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee. Hamilton maneuvered the crisis head-on and helped lead to a successful outcome.

Hamilton's key strengths include:

  • Strong expertise in addressing government crises includes issues on our Southern Border and the COVID-19 Pandemic, serving in key roles in the passage of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Humanitarian Assistance and Security at the Southern Border Act, 2019 and CARES ACT, respectively.

  • Possesses an unparalleled understanding of the appropriations process, having served as the lead Republican Senate staffer on funding bills for the Department of Justice, Department of Commerce, NASA, and the Office of the United States Trade Representative, among others.

  • Strong expertise in Financial Services and Housing issues after serving as the lead staffer on the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee for former Chairman Senator Richard Shelby.

From 2019 to 2021, Hamilton served as the Republican Subcommittee Staff Director and Clerk for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies. During his time as the lead Republican Staffer on the subcommittee, he oversaw the passage of numerous funding bills and supplemental appropriations bills, including the generational CARES Act at the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Prior to his service on the Committee, Hamilton served as a Legislative Assistant for Senate Appropriations Chairman Richard Shelby, where he was the lead staffer on issues related to the Banking Committee, tax, workforce development, and education. When not at the office, Hamilton enjoys cheering on University of Alabama Crimson Tide athletics. His lifelong passion for the Crimson Tide was nurtured during his tenure as Student Government Association President at Alabama.

Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Alabama Honors College with a dual degree in History and Political Science.
